Motel Studios is your artsy home away from home—a colorful community space where creativity is messy, fun, and always encouraged. Nestled in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia—affectionately known as the Star City of the South—we’re inspired by our city’s vibrant arts scene, rich history, and breathtaking mountain views.
We offer a variety of creative experiences, including pottery, painting, crochet, sewing, tie-dye, and more. Whether you’re joining us for a one-time class, a six-week course, or just to vibe during open studio hours, there’s something for every skill level and every kind of artist (yes, even the “I haven’t made art since 3rd grade” kind).
Roanoke’s dynamic culture fuels our passion. From the iconic Roanoke Star atop Mill Mountain to the bustling Historic Roanoke City Market, our city is a hub of creativity and community . We embrace this spirit by hosting parties, pop-ups, drag shows, and Sunday Fundays—and you’re invited.
